Thank you for submitting your 2021 Renewal Application. We have performed our cursory review and it is now time for you to login to our new online portal to continue with the renewal process.

For renewal processing, please registerfor a new account with the ATLCORE Business Licensing and Permitting Portal (https://atlantaga-energov.tylerhost.net/Apps/SelfService#/home).

For instructions on how to submit your renewal application, click here.

You will be prompted to enter your renewal application information and remit payment for your registration. Upon completion of this step and Office of Revenue's internal review of your online submission, you will receive your occupational tax bill to remit for payment. If you are alerted that there is a hold on your account, we will contact you to discuss and provide instructions on next steps. After your payment is received, you will also be able to print your 2021 license from the new online portal!

Business License Renewal Process Steps

  1. Register for ATLCORE/ Receive Email Verification
  2. Log-in to ATLCORE
  3. Renew license and upload completed documents
  4. Invoiced $75 Registration Fee
  5. Office of Revenue Review performed (may take up to 30 days)
  6. 2nd Invoice for Occupational Tax (may include $75 Registration Fee if not already paid)
  7. Pay all fees
  8. Customer prints license

Professional, Insurance and Financial Institutions Licenses Renewals

Mailed invoices will no longer be provided for any license type. License customers will need to register for a new account with the ATLCORE Business Licensing and Permitting Portal to submit their renewal information and remit payment for the applicable renewal year.

About Renewing Business Licenses

General business licenses must be renewed each year by submitting:

  • Business License Renewal Application via ATLCORE Business Licensing and Permitting Portal
  • SAVE and E-Verify Notarized Affidavits (prior year notarized affidavits are not acceptable)
  • Applicant's government issued photo id (i.e. Driver's license, passport, etc.). Additionally, please ensure you have the following information available for inclusion in your application:
  • Prior Year Actual Gross Revenue
  • Number of Employees

A business license cannot be processed without these documents and full payment.

  • If you are a Legal Permanent Resident or a Qualified Alien - You must submit the SAVE Affidavit and the secure and verifiable document annually. Please visit https://law.georgia.govand proceed to Key Issues followed by Immigration Reports for more information on secure and verifiable documents.
  • E-Verify Private Employer Affidavits - As of July 1, 2013 private employers with more than 10 employees are required to register for and use E-Verify and to sign an E-Verify affidavit attesting to such. Any employer with less than 11 employees is exempt from this requirement, but must complete an affidavit attesting that they are exempt annually.

Businesses failing to renew their business license and that continue to operate is subject to citation requiring the business to appear before the Court for operating without a City of Atlanta business license.

It is your responsibility to be aware of and comply with renewal procedures to ensure your business is compliant with City of Atlanta Ordinance.

All businesses are subject to audit by the City of Atlanta Department of Finance. (Atlanta Municipal Code § 30-85). If selected for audit, businesses are required to provide a copy of their prior year's Federal Return (i.e. 1040 Schedule C, 1120, 1065, State Return 500 through 700).

Out-of-state businesses with no location or office in Georgia, doing business in Atlanta are subject to the City of Atlanta's Occupation Tax. (Atlanta Municipal Code § 30-77) Businesses located in Atlanta may be taxed on statewide receipts, if you do not have a physical location in any other jurisdiction within the State. (Atlanta Municipal Code § 30-51).

Renewal applications must be submitted via the ATLCORE Business Licensing and Permitting Portal. First-time portal users must register for an account. Instructions for registering and applying for an account can be found here.

BUSINESS LICENSE PAYMENT

All payments must be submitted via the ATLCORE Business Licensing and Permitting Portal. Acceptable forms of payment are Visa, MasterCard, Discover and American Express.

The Office of Revenue does not accept payment plans or installment agreements for any tax or fee due to the City.

TAX RATE

  • Business and occupation taxes are based upon total reported gross receipts generated from the business location within the State of Georgia and the number of employees

  • Taxes are computed (after a flat tax of $50 for the first $10,000) by using the appropriate rate indicated by your Business Tax Class (Atlanta Municipal Code § 30-62)

  • In addition, the fee includes a calculation using the total number of employees. The fee is $25 per employee. The first employee is exempt.

SAVE Affidavit

SAVE is administered by the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services, a component of the Department of Homeland Security. O.C.G.A. 50-36-1 requires anyone seeking a public benefit from a municipality must first complete a SAVE Affidavit.
